DAVID OKON WILLIAM

Head of the Accounts Unit

Mr. David O. William is the head of the Accounts Unit of NIHSA. He is a native of Ikot Ubo in Nsif-Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa-Ibom State, Nigeria. He attended his primary School at Aningeje-Akampa Local Government Area of Cross River State from 1973-76. He went on to attend Salvation Army Secondary School, Akai-Ubium, Akwa-Ibom (1976-1981) and proceeded to study Accounting at the Federal Treasury Academy, Stages 1 and 2 from 1987-1988 and 1991-1992 respectively. He studied Executive Management Accountancy at the University of Lagos from 1990-1994. His other educational attainments include courses at the West African Institute of Financial and Economic Management (2000 and 2001) and Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (2002).

Mr. Williams worked with the Federal Ministry of Education from 1984-1992 and rose to the rank of Executive Officer (Accounts). He was posted to the Presidency (Secretariat of the Presidential Advisory Councils) from 1992 and worked till 2009 to become a Principle Accountant. He was posted to NIHSA and is currently a Chief Accountant and Head of Accounts. While at the Presidency, he covered meetings and Secretariat of Councils. He travelled on official assignment to Europe, Asia and America.

He is a member of Chartered Institute of Finance and Control, Chartered Mediator and Conciliator and Universal Peace Federation (UPF) Ambassador for Peace. He is also a member of the Nigeria Institute of Management.

He is married with three children.
