Head Press Unit

Ifeoma Comfort Ndefo (MNIPR) is an Assistant Director and Head of Press and Public Relations Unit of the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA).. She is a   PhD Mass Communication student of the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK);She holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science(International Relations)2005, from the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) and a  B.Sc. Mass Communication(1994),from the Enugu state University of Science & Technology (ESUT). She is a Full Member of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) 1995; A Full Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (MNIPR) 2007; A Fellow of the 2007 Class of the Biovision. Nxt,Lyon, France; A member of the Information Resource Centre of the American Embassy Abuja .Ifeoma  started her Civil Service career from the National Biotechnology Development Agency in 2004 as Information Officer 1, after having served as a Publication Consultant to the Agency from Dec.2001 to  July 2004 when she was fully employed. She rose to become the Head of the Communication & Protocol Unit, NABDA in 2016 and Assistant Director , Information in 2017; from where she proceeded  for a secondment  to NIHSA as Assistant Director and Head of Press & Public Relations Unit. Ifeoma is multilingual with fluency in Ibo, Yoruba and English and operational knowledge in French. Ifeoma has attended trainings and conferences locally and internationally in Science communication and Advocacy, Strategic communication, Issues Management and Public Relations.  She has three published articles in academic journals and several published journalistic articles in National Newspapers and Magazines. She has produced as editor two magazines and several Newsletters. She is happily married with children.
